We’re excited to announce the latest update to our AI SDK, which now includes several significant enhancements to body and hand tracking capabilities. These updates are designed to provide developers with even more precision and flexibility when creating immersive applications. Let’s dive into what’s new:

.NET MAUI support

We continue our commitment to supporting more platforms and tech stacks by adding support for Microsoft’s .NET MAUI. MAUI is a cross-platform framework for developing desktop and mobile apps using C# and XAML — now with advanced body-tracking capabilities.

This update ensures full support for iOS, Android, and Windows, with Mac Catalyst support to follow soon. We’re excited to bring our Body Tracking software to even more users and environments!

LightBuzz has created the world’s most accurate body-tracking software solution. Companies and research centers worldwide use our SDK to develop commercial apps for desktop and mobile devices.

Performance boost

We’ve significantly boosted performance by lowering the load on both the main and background threads. As you can see, version 6.5 apps use up to 30% less CPU for the same input.

Powered by some old-school C++ magic, this update not only enhances efficiency but also improves battery life for devices running our body tracking software. Enjoy a smoother experience and longer usage times with this upgrade.

Lighter Unity executables

Our latest update has made Unity builds significantly lighter, reducing the size by 100MB. We’ve optimized by bundling Unity resource files directly into the respective platform binaries and relocating media files to separate locations.

Dynamic smoothing update

Our Dynamic smoothing feature is now smoother and faster than ever before. Even with a smoothing factor of 0, you can experience super-smooth real-time data with no lag. Additionally, we’ve achieved full synchronization of body and hand smoothing, providing a more cohesive and seamless tracking experience.

Note: if you are using some kind of post-processing, this update may impact the results. If you need to revert to the previous version of Dynamic smoothing, please contact support@lightbuzz.com.

Bug fixes

Lastly, here are some additional updates:

  • We have fixed an issue that caused “Hide Faces” to cause memory issues with long videos (> 3 minutes).
  • Minimum Android API Level is now set to 29. Google recommends a minimum API Level of 33. However, if you need to support a lower API level on your Android apps, contact support@lightbuzz.com.
